(Background): Hotspots and smoke at the height of the 1998 Florida Fires on the morning of July 2.

During the serious fire event in the state of Florida in the summer of 1998, the Operational Significant Event Imagery team produced detailed, high-resolution imagery showing phenomena associated with the fires such as hot spots and smoke.

This year, fires have begun in Florida again. The OSEI team has covered this event in its early stages and will continue to provide coverage in the form of imagery posted to this web site as conditions warrant. In an effort to provide better access to the imagery we produce, this web page will serve as the central location from which Florida fire information and imagery can be accessed.
