Our Daily Operational Significant Event Imagery Report (DOSEIR) outlines the events we have captured in satellite imagery and provides a direct link to each image. The images are described with short narratives and a line of information which notes the satellite source of the image, the channels used, the date and time of the satellite pass, whether the image is in color or grayscale and the geographical location over which the image is centered.

This report is available Monday through Friday as an e-mail via subscription or through this web site in either a remote window or in this frame.

To access the report in this frame, you may click on the header to this section or the word "Frame" to the left.

Having trouble deciphering our filenames? Wondering how to best view our images? Want to know how to subscribe to our report or send us feedback? We have compiled a set of help sheets addressing each of these issues. Choose the most appropriate of the following pages:

OSEI Filename Help
Outlines each section of the standard OSEI filenames and explains exceptions to the rules.
  OSEI Image Help
Discusses issues involved in displaying our imagery and gives suggestions for different types of viewing methods.
DOSEIR Subscriptions
A form which submits a request for subscription to the Daily Operational Significant Event Imagery Report. The form may not work in some web browsers but alternate instructions for subscribing are on this page.

The OSEI team consists of a team leader and the four principal analysts who produce the imagery you see on this web site. Meteorologists in NOAA's Satellite Analysis Branch monitor significant environmental events and notify us of their current or potential occurrence and of their severity and scope.
